There are many bars with their terraces situated in the Plaça itself, but it would be a mistake to limit yourself just to the Plaça. Schillings in Calle Ferran is always bustling, as the Irish bars on the same street. There are many bars hidden in Calle Rauric and other alleys behind the Plaça, such as Malpaso, Lemon Negro and Shanghai, but the real movida is down on Career Escudellers, which runs off the Ramblas below Plaça Real. Moving away from the Ramblas, Career Escudelles takes you to Plaza George Orwell - a popular plaza both day and night - and on to Career Avinyo, and you guessed it – more bars.
