Gaudí (1852-1926) was born in 1852 in Reus. From early childhood he was a keen observer of nature, attracted by its shapes, colours and geometry.

In 1862 he decided to study architecture in Barcelona, and his first architectural work oscillated between reinterpreting historic canons with an Oriental influence and the recovery of medieval elements.
