| The gothic quarter of Girona is found on the other side of the river, a 10 minute walk from the train station.
With its own Jewish quarter, a number of provincial museums and several galleries, the city has plenty to capture your interest. The restoration of the houses along the river, now painted in a variety of pastel colours, is a great feature of the city today.
With one of the highest standards of living in Spain, the provincial capital has some good restaurants and plenty of shopping, without the crowds of Barcelona.
