From Sonar to Primavera Sound, or playing host to four Coldplay concerts in 2023, Barcelona is a popular destination for music lovers. The summer of 2024 brings a whole new line-up of artists, so get ready to enjoy a great atmosphere and the Mediterranean setting. There are many music festivals in Barcelona and nearby worth keeping on your radar.
Sonar
If electronic music is your thing, you probably already know about Sonar. The festival celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023 and there are now Sonar festivals in other cities around the world. Not bad, considering it all began here in Barcelona when electronic music was just getting started. 13 – 15 June, Fira de Montjuic, Barcelona
Primavera Sound
This year the Primavera Sound festival will take place from 29 May – 2 June in the Forum Parc. Click for the program. The full festival passes sell out quickly. Attracting an impressive list of international artists, the festival is also held the following weekend in Porto.

Cruïlla
The Cruilla Festival will take place from 10 to 13 July also in the Forum Parc.

Brunch electronik Barcelona
From Friday 9th August to Saturday 11th August an Electronik music festival will take place in the Forum Parc. Starting at 15:00 each day and going through to 03:00.
On Sunday the festival moves to Montjuic, the location for the Brunch in the Park at the Jardins Joan Brossa from 13:00 to 22:00.
Out of town
Cap Roig Festival
One of the leading summer festivals is held over several days at the end of July and the beginning of August in the Cap Roig Gardens of Calella de Palafrugell. Check the official site for program details.
Peralada
The Festival Castell Peralada offers Dance, Classical Music and Popular Music. Founded in 1987, the festival is one of the major arts events of the summer.
